We are actively building our On-Call Commissioned School Security Officer (CSSO) roster to support Jonesboro Public Schools. Dynamic Integrated Security (DIS) is a professional security services provider committed to protecting educational communities through highly trained personnel, industry-leading standards, and continuous professional development.
DIS currently holds a three-year contract with Jonesboro Public Schools, creating an ongoing need for qualified Commissioned School Security Officers.

Position Overview

As an On-Call Commissioned School Security Officer (CSSO), you will provide armed security coverage whenever full-time officers are unavailable and support athletic events and other school-sponsored activities.

This position offers flexible scheduling with assignments provided as operational needs arise.

Please note: This is an on-call position with no guaranteed minimum hours.

Compensation
Pay Rate
• $23.00 per hour for all assignments

Work Schedule
Campus Coverage
• Monday through Friday
• 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• Based on the assigned campus schedule
Athletic & School Events
• Evenings
• Weekends
• Paid at the same hourly rate

Key Responsibilities
Campus Coverage
• Cover assignments when full-time CSSOs are absent.
• Maintain a highly visible armed security presence.
• Monitor building access and visitor procedures.
• Deter and respond to security threats.
• Assist during medical emergencies and critical incidents.
• Support lockdowns, evacuations, and emergency drills.
• Build positive relationships with students, faculty, and administrators.
Athletic & School Events
• Provide armed security during athletic competitions and school events.
• Monitor entrances, parking areas, and spectator sections.
• Respond to disturbances and unauthorized persons.
• Coordinate with school personnel and Jonesboro Police Department.
• Support safe event entry and exit procedures.
Administrative Responsibilities
• Complete accurate incident reports.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency responders.
• Follow all DIS policies, Act 393 standards, and district procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must:
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
• Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
• Hold a current Arkansas CSSO License or be eligible to obtain one before assignment.
• Pass state and federal fingerprint-based background checks.
• Successfully complete a psychological evaluation.
• Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening.
• Successfully complete the DIS firearms qualification course.
• Possess a valid Arkansas driver's license.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Be physically capable of responding to emergencies and standing or walking for extended periods.
• Be able to quickly adapt to unfamiliar school campuses.

Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with any of the following are strongly encouraged to apply:
• Military experience
• Law Enforcement experience
• Corrections experience
• Retired Law Enforcement Officers
• Reserve Officers
• Off-Duty Law Enforcement
• Previous School Resource Officer (SRO) or School Security experience
• Broad weekday availability during the school year

Equipment Requirements
Applicants must provide:
• Full-size 9mm duty handgun from an approved manufacturer
• Safariland Level III duty holster
• Duty belt with required accessories
• Duty boots
Before deployment, all firearms must successfully pass the DIS armorer and safety inspection.

Training Provided at No Cost
Qualified candidates receive professional training including:
• Act 393 CSSO Certification
• Firearms Qualification
• CPR / First Aid / AED
• ALERRT Active Threat Response
• Crisis Intervention
• De-escalation Techniques
• Youth & Adult Mental Health First Aid

Availability Expectations
Candidates must:
• Be available to respond to assignments with approximately 24-hour notice.
• Promptly accept or decline scheduling requests.
• Maintain all required licenses and certifications in active status.

Because CSSOs work daily in educational environments with children, officers are expected to demonstrate exceptional professionalism, sound judgment, emotional control, and a commitment to de-escalation.
Professional appearance, integrity, and responsible firearms handling are essential conditions of employment.
