Job Title: Grocery Clerk 18+Location: 1701 Paragould Plaza, Paragould, AR, 72450, United StatesEmployee Type: Part TimeDepartmentReports to: Store ManagerExempt Status: Non-exemptSafety Sensitive: NoJob FunctionSupports grocery store operations by handling inventory levels and product displays.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesGreet all customers, respond to questions, and explain store policies courteously.Prepare the back room for receipt of merchandise, unload trucks, and sort cases for stocking.Clean store floors, check‑lanes, carts, restrooms, parking lot, and shelves, using cleaning equipment and chemicals safely.Load stocking carts/pallets, transport cases to the sales floor, match case strips to shelf tags, and face front the display.Ensure safety of self, customers, and coworkers by following safety rules and notifying a supervisor of hazards.Perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisors, substitute for absent workers, and provide additional service during peak periods.Operate a baler, case cutter, pallet jack, and forklift (18+ years of age required for pallet jack, forklift, and baler).Count and record individual merchandise items for inventory.Manually price mark/label merchandise without a UPC code.Move damaged or returnable products to the back room and sort for return to the damage reclaim center.Use proper case opening and product stacking techniques to prevent damage.Remove trash, operate baler, and load salvage onto trucks.Change signs, light bulbs, tags, and price markers on shelf displays.Assist cashiers by bagging and carrying out items when necessary.Requirements and QualificationsThis position requires the ability to perform the duties described safely, efficiently, and competently.Education and/or ExperienceHigh school education or concurrent enrollment preferred, but not required.Prior experience or training as a grocery clerk preferred.Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsNone.Mathematical SkillsBasic math ability (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
