We are looking to hire an experienced Manager of Project Management with a background in material handling, conveyor systems, or similar technical equipment manufacturing. The Manager of Project Management is responsible for leading a team of Field Service Project Managers to ensure the successful delivery of service projects. This role emphasizes the documentation and maintenance of all processes related to the Project Management Office (PMO) for Service and the prioritization of project workloads based on team availability and expertise. This individual must be able to prioritize and manage project changes, while making sure the team's project schedules are met. This person must possess effective verbal and written communication skills, exceptional time management, negotiation skills, be detail orientated and have a strong technical aptitude to assist overseeing projects from cradle-to-grave. The ideal candidate needs to be a responsible and self-motivated problem solver with a "can do" attitude to meet project milestones, have a passion for learning and leading a team of other project managers. Essential responsibilities include:

  • Team Leadership and Management: Lead and mentor a team of Field Service Project Managers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Develop team members' project management skills and provide career development opportunities.
  • Work closely with service and operation managers to coordinate resource planning for project execution.
  • Create KPI's to track the Project Management teams progress and report monthly to Service Leadership.
  • Process Documentation and Maintenance: Document and maintain all processes related to the PMO for Service, ensuring clarity and consistency across projects.
  • Develop and uphold project management standards, tools, and best practices.
  • Project Workload Prioritization: Assess and prioritize project workloads based on team availability, expertise, and project urgency.
  • Allocate resources effectively to achieve optimal project execution and efficiency.
  • Project Planning and Execution: Oversee and guide the execution of service projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans that align with business goals and objectives.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary liaison between stakeholders and project teams to ensure effective communication and alignment.
  • Facilitate regular project status meetings and updates to keep all stakeholders informed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance project delivery and efficacy.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and integrate relevant practices into the PMO framework.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Project Management, or a related field; a master's degree or PMP certification is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience managing rapid paced technical projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50%.
  • Flexible to work weekends and/or additional hours as required to meet project deadlines.
  • Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Strong team skills.
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communications.
  • Ability to carry out detailed written and verbal instructions independently.
  • PMI or PMI-ACP certification preferred
  • Lean / Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred

Physical Requirements:

Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk or hear; uses hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. On occasion, may be required to climb and work in high places, stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.

The incumbent must occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The position is an office-based position with visits to the manufacturing area.
