Primary Roles and Responsibilities
1. Perform construction activities
a. Provide framing, decking, and roof tarping. These tasks are the primary role for this position but the below responsibilities will also provide up to 40 hours per week while assisting other team members.
b. Perform basic installation and minor repair to a variety of flooring systems, including but not limited to carpeting, vinyl, hardwood, and laminate.
c. Perform basic drywall repairs, including but not limited to hanging, taping, and finishing.
d. Perform installation of trim, base, and other molding components.
e. Perform installation of doors and door hardware.
f. Perform installation of cabinets, countertops, and cabinet components.
g. Perform basic painting tasks including caulking and filling crevices.
h. Perform basic installation and repair of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems and components.
i. Perform installation of lighting components.
j. Perform basic installation of common appliances, such as refrigerators, microwaves, ovens, etc.
k. Perform installation of residential windows and components.
l. Perform board-ups as necessary.
m. Repair punch list items as required.
n. Perform basic cleanup as work is completed.
2. Provide Customer Communication and Support as needed
a. Provide customers with support and guidance on usage of installed appliances, systems, or components.
3. Additional Responsibilities
a. Ensure all work is completed to industry standards, local codes, and requirements of the scope of work.
b. Suggest additional repairs when identified and needed.
c. Document all work performed as directed.
d. Execute work orders in a timely manner.
a. Provide onsite direction and support for subcontractors to assist the Site Superintendent position. Management oversight of subcontractors is critical to ensure each project stays on task and that we maintain great quality control.
Necessary Experience and Skill Set
2 years of construction experience
Detail-orientated with an aptitude for problem-solving
Effective written and oral communication
Basic math skills
Basic knowledge of construction equipment, tools, and their application
Basic knowledge and relevant experience with common plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
Possess good carpentry skills, including trim work and framing
Formal Education/Training
High school diploma/GED
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
Walking and/or standing throughout the day. Frequent climbing ladders. Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme conditions such as heat. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Must have the ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
Normal Working Hours, Additional Working Hours, and Travel Requirements
This is a full-time salary position, working 8:00 a.m.5:00 p.m., MondayFriday, 40 hours per week. This position could require longer hours (beyond 8 hours a day), occasionally working on-call, and occasional weekend work. Travel may be required but is primarily local. However, some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected although it would be rare.
